The Meridian Weekly will be hosting a candidate Meet & Greet on Wednesday, October 16th at 7pm at the Ovid/Lions Hall in downtown Ovid. There are a number of contested races on the November 5th ballot in The City of Ovid, Ovid Township and Ovid-Elsie School Board.
The candidates who have accepted our invitation include:
- City of Ovid Mayor candidates, Bill Lasher and Mary Perrien,
- Ovid Township candidates for Supervisor, Jennings West and
Gary Criner, - Clerk candidates, Claudia Pluger and Keith Jones,
- Trustee candidates, Bobby Byles, Kurt Wolf and Greg Atwood,
- OE School Board Candidates, Dr. David Huff, Sue Kadlek and
Becky Williams.
The event will not be a debate, but an opportunity for voters to meet the candidates and ask questions they may have of those who wish to represent and speak for the voters in the community. People with questions are asked to bring them in written form that evening. Those questions will be put forth to the candidates by the event moderator, Art Wainwright, a retired newsman from Channel 10 in Lansing.
Watch also the Meridian Weekly on Sundays, October 20th and 27th for candidate profiles and proposals in the upcoming November 5th General Election in Clinton, Gratiot and Shiawassee County.
