Daniel Albert Morgan, passed away at age 52 on Friday September 30th in his home surrounded by family and prayer. He was preceded in death by his parents Geraldine Ellen Hunter, Leonard Leroy Morgan, and his brother Michael Morgan in 1983. He is survived by his wife Pamela Morgan, stepchildren Rodney Craig, Gabrielle (Corey) Malone, his brothers Leonard Morgan and Gary Morgan, and grandchildren Nathan and Vincent Malone.
Daniel was loved and respected by so many, and an accomplished man. He was well known to put all he had into whatever he did; therefore he always did it well. He had such a passion and love for the great State of Michigan, and his community, he became a Firefighter for Laingsburg in 1989 and was a Lieu tenant at the time he retired from the Department. He started his career at the State of Michigan 25 years ago and excelled with his passion for occupational safety and health to bring many procedures and policies to fruition for the safety of the employees of the state. His career ended at the State of MI as Assistant Department Administrator for DTMB.
Just a few of his biggest accomplishments are:
- Assistant Golf Coach for the Laingsburg High School Golf Team
- A Laingsburg Firefighter since 1989
- Fire/Crash/Rescue Crew Chief (HAZMAT CART) for Michigan International Speedway.
- All fire alarms in buildings of the State of Michigan will be sounded with his voice and directions.
- This year 2022 was recognized as Laingsburg’s Hometown Hero by Modern Woodsman of America #783
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday Oct 5th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9p.m. at St. Isadore Catholic Church in Laingsburg, MI., with a Rosary to be prayed at 8:30. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thurs day morning at 11am and Fr. Anthony Brooks to will officiate the burial for those who wish to attend at Mt. Olivet.
