Christmas in Ovid returns to the Ovid Lions/VFW Hall in downtown Ovid on Friday, December 9th. Also returning to the holiday event is the decorating and tree lightning prior to Santa’s arrival. The tree will be set up at Boyer Park ready for families to add their ornament beginning at 6:30pm (there will be some ornaments available at the site). The light parade will begin at 6:45, those wishing to take part in the parade are asked to be at the top of the hill on Main Street by 6:30pm. Santa will be delivered to Boyer Park where he will then lead children to the hall for visits with Santa, cookies and milk and gifts for kids 12 and under. Donation boxes will also be available for community members to donate non-perishable food, personal products and household goods for the Christmas Basket Program. The Christmas in Ovid event is sponsored by the Ovid Carriage Days Committee.
